To apply for PIP for endometriosis?

Made a post about this before. Gynae thinks it’s pretty certain this is what’s causing my issues and they’re arranging surgery to diagnose/treat it.

Because of it, I currently can’t work full time. I’m in pain a lot and when it’s severe, I can’t stand up or even get out of bed. Even tramadol won’t remove the pain and it knocks me out. All pain drugs make me feel sleepy. I can’t live my life because of it. Twisting too much or moving too quickly is agonising.

Would I be stupid to apply for PIP because of it?

If you can argue that your depression and anxiety prevents you from being able to do any of the activities listed in the descriptors for more than half the days, and will do for the next 9 months, you could try apply.

It’s notoriously difficult to get PIP but if you are thorough and follow advice when completing the form (there is an excellent guide here you will give yourself the best chance. Medical evidence is required. And there is the assessment to consider.

Btw, I’m not denying that your conditions have a significant impact on your life - of course they do. But the government don’t give a shit about that, unfortunately. That’s why they’ve cut disability benefits and made it harder and harder to get them.

I think you might find it easier to get ESA but as I said in my very first post, your eligibility depends on NI contributions (have you made enough in the last 2 years?) and/or whether you have a partner who is working.
