Hi,

I don't want to say too much because of the Daily fail and I have NC for this post.

I am considering this operation due to pain and discomfort plus tissue damage caused by being longer than average, not because I want to look 'prettier' etc down there. This isn't a barbie doll wannabe, but I want to be pain free.

There are lots of stories online but its hard to discern UK experiences from the Gyn carried out operations in America etc so its really hard to gauge the pro's and cons. I won't give detail but I am very much aware that someone will always be the tiny percent where things go wrong so I have that to weigh up too.

Would really appreciate any experiences or to hear from people who work in this field and see results? I promise I am not after sordid details!

Mine was great. No infection but I did get thrush. Recovery was just over a week until my stiches dissolved and then I was fine. No follow up. Looked much better and more even than it had before which was nice, but mostly, there was no pain and it didn't get in the way!

Hi!

Just reading this thread as in similar boat and wondered who you went with if you decided to go ahead and if you have lost any sensation as this is my main concern too.

Hi all, did anyone suffer with reoccurring thrush after labiaplasty? If so how did you solve this problem

Nowfreefromangst · 14/08/2023 19:42

I'm sorry to hear that there are so many out there that suffer with this
Since having my DCs 20 years ago, I have had really uneven labia and would love to have one of them trimmed a bit, but the local gynae surgeon said labiaplasty for me would be purely cosmetic and was not prepared to do it.
This is even though it is painful and it is rubbed raw after running and cycling. Sex can also be very uncomfortable.
I'm a middle aged post menopausal woman
Cosmetic??? Really????
If I was a man with a dangly foreskin would he be treated like this?
Did you face this too OP?

Sorry to hear this, if I were you I’d seek a second opinion. I don’t regret having it done, unfortunately I wasn’t aware that thrush can be a problem post op.
