Best is going to make women who can't/won't breastfeed there baby's wholly inadequate? Everyone knows that breastmilk is better than formula but that doesn't mean that this woman can say that breast is beast, it feed into peoples opinions to make women feel guilty when they can't and won't breastfeed, no one should feel like that because of someone else's opinions.

Society is full of messages how great marriage is.
Studies show that married people have better health.

Reality = Some folk have awful marriages and end up being much happier (& healthier!) single.
The health studies about marriage benefits aren't wrong, but they also shouldn't be unpublicised just in case they made single people feel inadequate.

I had the exact reverse experience tbh, all doctors and midwives expected me to formula feed and there was very little BF support

I don’t care how people feed their babies. I do feel, though, that people should make peace with their decisions. If you are happy with your decision, nobody can “make” you feel guilty or inadequate. I am breastfeeding my toddler and right from the start I’ve been hearing comments about how breastfeeding has no benefit beyond the first few weeks and how I should definitely not breastfeed past 1 year and so on. I know I’ve made the right decision for myself and my child, so it doesn’t matter what others say.

@Thedogsmells had the same experience as you. I’ve only ever felt pressure to formula feed Sad

These threads only end one way, OP. Step away now, especially if you're a new mother, as you'll be feeding your baby one way or the other way and won't come away from this feeling good Flowers
