To want to force a lie in

I just can't for the life of me sleep in.

I used to be able to all the time.
Or I'd even wake up at day 8am and roll over and go back to sleep for a few hours.

Now even when I'm child free I'm up at around 7:30 and that's that.

I usually end up shattered and it's really annoying I just want to have a lie in one day.

Does anyone know why this could be or how to help it ? Might seem like a strange request but I'd love to wake up around midday especially after a late night out

Supermarket Sunday hours in Scotland are different. 24/7

I get this! I generally put a dim light on, read a few pages on my kindle and forget about actively trying to sleep... 2 hours later I wake up!

I take Nytol if I want to sleep in. Works really well and has the helpful side effect of making me not want a wee either so I sleep like the dead.
Or if I have amitryptiline in the house I take 10mg of that. Hello 16 hour sleep. Stuff hits like a tank and I wake up feeling all chill.

I'm the same. Quite often I just get up but have an afternoon nap if I'm tired. Agree with the point about speech, if I put something only borderline interesting on tv I find it lulls me to sleep.

Electric blanket to help keep you cosy. If i wake up too early i switch mine on it helps me get back over x
