To ask about removal of driving licence

Here is the situation.

If someone is driving and is stopped by the police, and they are not drinking or on drugs, can their driving licence be revoked on medical grounds even if no diagnosed illness?

Well, without more information it's hard to tell. But I'd suggest that if the police sends you a letter saying they're going to do something, they can probably do it.

Well, I'd have thought that if the licence has been revoked on medical grounds, then there must be a pretty good legitimate medical reason.

Does this help?

Changes in law which does allow plice to stop peole driving

😂 compromise someone's privacy on an anonymous internet forum which has nothing to do with driving. Unless the person in question has had a medical episode that has never ever happened to anyone else before then I'm fairly sure your non vague version of this thread would not be outing.

Another reason why the driving licence can be revoked via a doctor is if the doctor fears early onset dementia and the patient in question doesn't realise, they report it to the DVLA and you get a random letter. Or the person in question. Whatever.

Oh god you are not exactly nice to help are ya

DeathStare · 24/02/2018 17:29

OP are you saying that someone has told you that they've been banned from driving on medical grounds though they haven't been diagnosed with anything, and you are suspicious that either they have been diagnosed with something and haven't told you, or that they are lying about the reason they've been banned from driving?

If that's what you are asking then yes I'd be suspicious too. But I've no clue if that is what you're asking because it's too vague to tell

Were they simultaneously charged with a crime? E.g. driving without due care and attention or dangerous driving? It depends really on whether there was a crime committed for which medical grounds were the reason or whether the police just send a letter?

Sullabylullaby · 24/02/2018 18:06

Honestly, despite your stubbornness, we're shooting blind here....

I hate those posts where people post just to say they hate posts.

And you've basically just alienated people from trying to help you. If you can't give enough information for people to answer the question why bother coming on here to ask the question?
