To think I'd love a Thursday evening glass of wine

Staying at my parents along with my 2 young kids for a few days. Kids are in bed and I'd just love to be sitting down with a glass of wine for an hour before going to bed. We'd usually have a glass on a Thursday night at home, sometimes a cheeky second, sure it's nearly the weekend.

But it would be frowned upon at my parents house. They do sometimes open a bottle of wine at the weekend but they'd think I had some sort of problem if I wanted a glass on a Thursday. And I'd feel a bit silly having a glass on my own while they have a cup of tea.

Goodness I'm nearly 40, why can't I just have a glass of wine when I fancy one! Guess I'll just have to wait until tomorrow night.

I'm on my second glass. Yum.

Oh well drink away. Why bother asking.

starzig she would be absolutely fine to drive in the morning after one glass of wine. On average your body metabolises a unit an hour... it’d have to be a pretty big glass for any alcohol to be in her system in 10 hours time.
She would also be fine to look after her children.

I feel your pain. My DM has one bottle of wine between six adults on News Years Eve. I get the raised eyebrow if I pour a second glass of bass shandy.

Ah I never have wine anymore - but tonight with the cold setting in, no sign of spring everyone driving me slowly mad.... this was the moment. It is all the better for not drinking wine often... enjoy tomorrow... vow to never go anywhere without a handy drink stashed away :)

I'm having a little sherry! Would your parents approve?! I feel it's an older persons thing to do :)

Goodness! I started Monday night drinks when I was in a stressful manager role, I've somehow picked up the habit again once I stopped breastfeeding.....Monday night drinks are awesome!

In my family, any day with a Y in is good for a drink.

i might go have a drink now....and be in charge of children and a dog.

Make sure you have one tomorrow op, starzig and your parents can sit on the dry bench and feel superior.

Any night of the week goes here. The only thing that dictates my consumption, is whether I fancy it or not

The downside of being a boring bastard lone parent is that i can never have a glass of wine as it seems wrong to drink alone.
