...to be ever so slightly iritated that everyone admires my parents Jack Russel and ignores my lovely litle boy?

Every Wednesday my parents meet me outside work to pick up DS#2. As soon as they open the door of the car the dog rushed over to say hello to DS and me. My boy rushes out to stroke him and usually has a little run about on the grass with him whilst I swap the car seats over.

Later in work hordes of people come up to me and tell me how nice the bloody dog is! OK.. he is, but my little lad is lovely too. Lively, happy, smiling, curly-haired little tike and he is beautiful! Why doesn't anyone mention him? Is it too personal or do they just not notice kids.

I know it's unreasonable of me so don't even answer the question....

Oh and yeah I'm much more inclined to coo over a puppy/dog than I am a child. I just don't find stranger's kids cute, sorry.

Get your DS to curl one out on the grass and leave it there.

That'll get him noticed Wink

I think dogs are much cuter than children. Sorry!

I thought that would change when I had a child but it didn't.

Dromedary · 07/03/2013 22:53

Dogs are more touchy feely, aren't they? And the dog's owner is less protective of them. You can have fun playing with a stranger's dog, but not with their child.

To be fair I don't notice anyone's children or dogs.

LaurieFairyCake · 07/03/2013 23:02

Is your kid a bit ugly?

Wow this thread is from 2007!

I'm another one that goes soppy over a puppy but not a child. Recently I was far more excited at meeting one workmate's puppy than another's baby on the same day. All puppies are cute, not all babies are (even though some people will always say how beautiful any baby is, even if they look like Mr Potatohead).

Oops, didn't notice that. How random to resurrect such an old thread for no real reason.
