Second DC but big age gap plus first was more of a laid back baby.

Second DC is 18 months and I am struggling to run so much as a hairbrush through! Other mums on school run (even with teeny babies) seem to manage to look lovely!

If I put DC in cot (still with me), she cries so I just about manage to shove hair in a bun. Can't do while she's eating breakfast or anything as that would be downstairs (obviously unsafe to leave her), if she is in with me she wouldn't happily sit and watch TV or anything she just wants to be held.

Have I just got a v demanding baby or am I missing a trick??? It doesn't matter on the grand scheme of things but my confidence has hit rock bottom with baby weight not shifting and I'd feel 1000x better if I could get a bit of mascara on or style my hair!

Keep a makeup bag in the car and do your make up when the kids are in their car seats/ when you arrive at work

I put the flexi stairgate across his room door and he plays in his room whilst I have his door and my door open so I can see him. Doesn’t help you though if yours just wants to be held, sorry!

I hardly showered well what I mean is I was in and out in under 45 seconds as my little girl screamed so much in the cot. I don't blow dry my hair unless we go out for dinner I just let it air dry I feel such a scruff. It's not getting any easier now she's walking as she wanders off when I'm trying to get ready!

I leave dd eating her breakfast and nip to get ready I'm talking a nun, a little tinted moisturiser and mascara 5 mins but makes a huge difference I keep the house quite and its also very small so even in my bedroom I can hear dd talking to herself I shout down to her and she giggles I also do this if I need to make the beds or fetch washing... I'm sorry but if you didnt you would never get anything done im lucky though dd will play happily by herself for ages she lets me know if she wants me to play sometimes she would rather be lefr alone I would say every half an hour or so she will come to me for a cuddle and to pit her hand up my sleeve for a few mins shes only 20 months so still needs her comfort.. I think since I've had this little routine where I quickly get myself dressed and ready she's a lot more confident.
