OP I was where you are 7 weeks ago. As a family we bought ski passes for this year (live near ski resort in Canada), it's been a few years since I went but it's like riding a bike right? Except none of my winter stuff fit me...no problem, I'll get new stuff. Except none of the places I looked at made winter stuff big enough to fit me, and I couldn't get into my husband's men's XL ski stuff.
That 30 minutes of internet searching for a snow suit somehow did what I had not been able to do for myself for years - it got my motivation up and got my mind set. I started a low carb diet a couple of days later and haven't really looked back.
I log everything I eat on MyFitnessPal - I highly recommend this, really keeps me on track and I can plan my meals for the day.
I go to the gym three times a week. I am not good at it but it is getting easier so must be doing something!
I can fit into my husband's ski pants now. :) I shelved the idea of skiing for this year but I am determined to go next year. This is the goal that I am looking ahead to, do you have something like that?
I haven't always stuck to the diet but the key thing for me is that when I have an off day of less than ideal eating, I start right back with healthy eating the next morning. No more, "well I've already blown it for today so might as well have a good weekend", which I have done a lot in the past.
I am still obese according to the scale but I am feeling much better about myself now. It might not show to everyone else but I know I am making myself healthier and someday soon everyone else will be able to see it too.
Stay strong OP! I am happy to be your "friend" on MFP if that would help!
