My sons close friend in school mum is going a bad time ,her daughter might be diagnosed with some muscle problem and she is quite anxious and keeps telling me each day about it when we meet at school .I am also worried about her since she is a very good friend of mine .My son being very close to his son says is upset that I havent invited her son yet to his birthday party .Should I send her the invitation .I am quite anxious myself .I am quite sceptical myself. Please suggest

Why wouldn’t you ?

gamerchick · 20/02/2018 19:08

Um weren’t you inviting him anyway? why don’t you just invite him the same time as everyone else?

Trinity66 · 20/02/2018 19:08

Yes why would you not? I'm not really understanding the issue?

Sugarhunnyicedtea · 20/02/2018 19:09

I'm not sure what the question is?

SundaySalon · 20/02/2018 19:09

If she’s a good friends would you not just hand her it at the school? Maybe offer to collect and drop off her DS so she doesn’t have to worry.

gamerchick · 20/02/2018 19:09

I’m sorry im confused by your post. What does everything else you’ve mentioned have to do with a birthday invite and why are you skeptical?

gg1234 · 20/02/2018 19:11

thanks

Confused didn’t understand your post. Whats a bday invite have to do with anything else you’ve mentioned?

Trinity66 · 20/02/2018 19:12
Hmm
gg1234 · 20/02/2018 19:17

may be she is not in a mood to party at the moment and it would sound more rude to throw her a birthday party invitation when you know all her concern right now is her little daughter diagnosis .May be I am thinking too much thats why asking for advise .Else why would I ?

It's her son who would be going to the party though not her? I have to say it's an odd conclusion to reach

SomeKnobend · 20/02/2018 19:29

You're way overthinking things, just give her the invitation.

gamerchick · 20/02/2018 19:32

You think that one of her kids being entertained for a few hours wouldn’t be nice for him and her? Sometimes a distraction is welcome.

You’re massively overthinking it. How would you feel if you didn’t get invites because there was shit going on in your life? Confused

SparklyLeprechaun · 20/02/2018 19:33

It would be incredibly rude to exclude her son, why would you? If she's a friend, just ask her nicely, no big deal.

Chocywockydodahhhhhh · 20/02/2018 19:33

If I was in her shoes and you did not invite my son that would make me feel horrible and excluded. People quite often do this sort of thing when someone has had bad news or is going through it and give the excuse of “well I thought it was for the best” or even worse “I did not invite them because I don’t know what to say to them”. Let her decide what is for the best

gg1234 · 20/02/2018 19:33

yes may be just overthinking

Thanks
