Got given two different tablets on prescription just before Christmas for my periods. 4 weeks ago the gynaecologist gave me some codine for the pain to. I’ve had Surgery for my periods since then so the codines almost gone and I’m out of all the other tablets. I ran out just before the surgery but as it was a canceltion it came around quickly and I forgot to order some more. I’ve never had to order any more before so didn’t no what to do. Phoned the surgery this morning and they told me to phone the pharmacy and I could come pick it up pharmacy said I needed to fill out a form. Got the bus all the way to the doctors which I find so hard after having stitches in my tummy and I’ve just started my period 2 days ago so my endometriosis is killing me I was almost crying. I get there and they tell me I won’t be able to pick it up for 3 days I told them I was almost out and having to take less pain medication than I need. The receptionist said she could try speed it up and get it to me at the end of the day which is pointless as I can’t stay in town all day as in to much pain. I can’t even pick it up this week as I’m meant to be working if I feel better. I just want to cry no one can pick it up for me my mums been away for months and isn’t back for a while. My partner finishes work after they close. Sorry for the rant I no I’m probably being unreasonable just in pain over tired and grumpy.

I know exactly what you’re going through and it really is horrific. I’d second asking for a referral to pain clinic and trying different pain meds. I’ve found codiene helped to a point but difene suppositories have made the most difference for me, makes the daily pain more manageable. Obviously that’s different for everyone but worth a shot? Unfortunately I found that nothing helped with my period pain post lap, I had one just before Christmas and when I got my period a few weeks later I genuinely thought I was dying with the pain and nothing touched it. It did pass though eventually

Yeah they say the first after the lap is always bad
