To be succumbing to "woo" feelings?

Just washing up, and started to feel a bit uneasy. Toddler DS been unsettled all day, so thought just hangover from that.

Went upstairs to run a bath, and felt very strongly that I should NOT get in the bath, but get into bed with DS (he sleeps in mine) and wait for .... something.

I live in a very old house with lots of history, that often feels very "busy" but it doesn't feel like this is the house. It feels like something from "outside" IYSWIM.

Prickles are up on the back of my neck, and goosebumps all over. Feel like someone stood behind me- but again- it's absolutely not the house. This is something outside. I'm sure of it.

AIBU to be feeling a bit on edge?

Do you live on your own? or is there someone who lives with you, who is not there tonight? I only ask because I get like this sometimes when I'm on my own if DH has gone out for the night, it starts as just a slight feeling then gets worse when I start thinking about it and I can't sleep properly until he is home.

Lock your doors though, and don't go for a bath and get in bed with you DS if that is what your instinct is telling you. Its probably nothing but it is always best to trust your instincts anyway . Hopefully once you have locked everything up etc you'll start to feel ok again. Make yourself a cup of tea/hot choc or something, that might help.

I can smell when my dc are unwell - always could. They exude a sort of sweet & sour smell.

OP, hope you're tucked up nicely with your toddler now Smile I frequently get spooked like this when DH works away (and occasionally when he's here with me.) I get an obsession with something, eg. what if there was a fire, or a break-in - and I plan for it, and then I can't sleep.

I have to say, I've never been prove right - it's just a spooked feeling. Late night worries. Always feel different in the morning. Hopefully yours is the same.

LoveProsecco · 19/02/2018 00:50

Hope all is okay OP. I'm a big believer in gut instinct

Andromeida29 · 19/02/2018 01:01

Hope you're ok x

I sometimes have this but then nothing comes of it personally but I find there's been some kind of incident near by. It happened last week....DH was on nights so I thought I was just jittery being alone in the house....the next day though, I heard there had been a terrible fight between some youths at about the time I was feeling weirded out and it was on the road I walk down every day....just a few streets away.

LolitaLempicka · 19/02/2018 04:07

I really don’t think this is helping, people feeding the nonsense. It is more likely that you are coming down with something, or it could be hormonal. But why wind yourself up further? Just go to bed and hopefully you will feel better in the morning.

AjasLipstick · 19/02/2018 04:10

Lolita I wouldn't worry! She's probably tucked up and sound asleep by now!

CobraKai · 19/02/2018 04:54

My gut is telling me it's a pixie.

JeNeSuisPasVotreMiel · 19/02/2018 05:21

Wooo.....

TheMaddHugger · 19/02/2018 06:21

((((Hugs)))) OP. Trust your instincts. I felt that way once at the old farmhouse and next morning there were footprints outside in the garden. Not ours

TheMaddHugger · 19/02/2018 06:22

And yes I could always smell when the kids or pets were sick

slashdragon · 19/02/2018 07:09

I don't think I have the correctly functioning senses as I'm rubbish at telling if my DS is ill aside from the obvious symptoms.

OP I hope all is well.

GrannyGrissle · 19/02/2018 07:30

DD4's breath smells a bit oniony when she's ill (not BO oniony). Hope you are alive and well this morning OP?! I'd be getting a couple of large dogs and a shot gun if you are alone in the middle of no where.

Hello all

We survived the night, and this morning inclined to think it was just the way the wind was blowing, or PMS or something. Very out of character for me to be spooked by "nothing" at all, although I do believe strongly in gut feelings, and energy patterns and so on, I don't believe in phantoms and ghosts with clanky chains... I'll just chalk it up to "one of those things".

As an aside, we don't own a dog, but since we moved into this house lasts year, I spend a lot of time looking for "the dog"; presumably the energy of one is still in the house, because I often look for it around ankle height and have a strong feeling of jack russellyness (not joking. I even step back on the stairs sometimes to "let it pass" before I realise, I don't have a bloody dog)

We do live in the middle of nowhere, just DS and I. Perhaps it's time to get a dog after all. Something bigger than a JR though....

Also today at work has been vile- so perhaps it was a premonition of that Wink

Thanks for your solidarity in these spooky woo times!

Second you getting a dog but you really don’t need bigger than a Jack Russell. He/she will be your best friend and the best guard dog ever!

Speaking from experience obviously x
