Best books for book clubs

Following the thread that asked for people's worst books (which included a number of books that I was intending to request from the library for our book club Sad ), can I ask people to recommend books that they have really enjoyed reading recently. We have quite an eclectic membership and often disagree about books, but ones that we did all agree that we liked were:

Anita Diamant: The Red Tent
Mary-Ann Schaffer: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
Nevil Shute: A Town Like Alice
R.J. Palacio: Wonder

Thanks!

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is a good read that most people seem to enjoy.

I thought I posted on a similar thread a couple days ago.

I like the Beard books by Penny Reid.

There is another thread about people's favourite books, that I found after I started mine - I thought I would let mine stand though, because they would be slightly different lists for me. Thanks for reminding me about Eleanor Oliphant - I remember seeing it in a bookshop and thinking that it looked interesting. Never heard of the Beard books, but they look fun.

I just finished The Break by Marian Keyes not very high brow but gave me a lot to think about.

I let you go by Clare Mackintosh and CL Taylor The Escape. Love both of these authors, CL Taylor has written a few book club friendly books.
