Not a TAAT but having just seen a thread about if Longleat CP is any good I thought I'd post my own.

We are booked in for a week in June (yay for academies setting odd half term dates and off peak prices). There'll be me, DH, DS who is 5 and DD 2.

If you've been can you share your tips please? Things that are a must, things to avoid etc. Thanks.

And it always kills the threads stone dead because some of us don't want to have that sort of stuff in our discussions of a family holiday.

Be careful as there's lots of ticks (as in the bloodsucking insects) in the woods/long grass.

If anyone is unfortunate enough to pick one up, go to the medical centre onsite as they are past masters at removing the little buggers.

I second don't book too many activities with little ones if they like swimming. You can easily spend a couple of hours a day based around the pool (and it's free!). The outdoor playgrounds are good at Longleat too. Top tip: drive your car to your lodge and unload. Don't then take it back to the car park until the evening as it's a bugger (excuse the pun) to get it in and out again. You won't get as good a space admittedly, but you won't spend an hour sitting in a massive traffic jam. I've been to, ahem, every CP in the country and Longleat is my favourite!

Tesco club card vouchers for Longleat safari day out admission.
Bring mini barbecue, groceries and alcohol from outside supermarkets and Diet Coke if it's your preference as Parc Markets don't stock it.
Bird seed tip is fab!
