I sometimes wonder if I am
One with the issues, my dc are both small
And in laws comments on what they wear and their appearance like how their hair is. I get a bit upset by this as at the end of the day they are only children i dress them comfortably as opposed to fashionablely.

Ignore ignore and ignore some more for GPS their grandchildren are like their little prizes I think they sometimes forget they are real tiny humans with real feelings. As long as your dc are happy and healthy who cares what they say.

Suppose it depends on what the inlaws are like usually. My mother always comments on my children's appearance and it's not a negative thing, she's making conversation, commenting on something new perhaps or an outfit she particularly likes. Mine are often dressed more for comfort - I don't do trends.

What do you actually mean?

Pop a booble on Mary, her hair is in her eyes? or Marys hair looks bloody awful with rats tails hanging down!
Why is Marys still in pyjamas past midday ? or cant you dress the child!

It really depends on what is actually being said and whether it is derogatory or not.

my baby wears too many baby grows she is 10 months, my older child’s outfit doesn’t match and looks awful she picks her own. My little one hates having his hair cut it’s a real trauma for us and comments will be made his hair isn’t done properly etc. It’s the best we can do ! 😓

I once suggested my mil to leave if my messy house distressed her so much. She tutted and stfu!
