Dog unwell and husband reaction

Overnight the puppy (lab) was sick in the kitchen in 3 different places. I am always first one up so cleaned it all. Puppy off food and looking miserable so allowed to lie on sofa. Husband comes down, I explain dog illness, dog wags tail and gets up off sofa and follows him into kitchen. The puppy looks all right to me says DH. Then pup throws up again - just froth really. I search around for more kitchen roll etc, DH says oh I feel quite sick now. Off he goes, returns to announce he has had to take a rennie as he is nauseous while I am on the floor cleaning up mess. Not much sympathy from me I will admit. DH now in a sulk as he did not get attention but of course he is eating breakfast. AIBU to feel pissed off?

He sounds like a bit of a drama queen... How is he when you're unwell?

Somersetter · 16/02/2018 10:20

YANBU. And since when did Rennies help with nausea? Confused

My dh would also have puked. He can't deal with vomit.
Dog shit no problem though!!
Non issue here imo.

NancyDonahue · 16/02/2018 10:28

My dh would run a mile if I was home to deal with it, but he'd be grateful to me for cleaning up and certainly wouldn't be wanting attention himself.

Your DH needs to grow up. Mind you, my 'D'GM was like that. DS1 has cystic fibrosis and used to produce the foulest smelling nappies, she was up visiting when he was about 1, I was changing him, she said, "that smell makes me feel sick." I said "don't you ever say that in front of DS1 again." She'd brought up 5 children FFS! He's 27 now, she's passed on, and I still haven't forgiven her! 😠

Do you have children? If a grown man is jealous of you needing to attend to a puppy, I'd be cautious about having kids with him.

Your DH sounds a bit pathetic to be honest
Having said that my DH doesn’t really do dog/cat puke but asks me to deal with it if I’m around. He will sort out human puke and animal poo if necessary though so I don’t mind
