18 USA school shootings in 45 days - AIBU to think that Trump doesn't give a shit

The shooting in Florida yesterday brings the tally of gun attacks on US schools THIS YEAR to 18. 18 in 45 days. Why aren't the US parents marching and rioting about this?

Trump is tweeting crap about he was a loner with MH issues and it's the responsibility of the US public to report. What could the authorities do until he'd acted though, it's no crime (yet) to have MH issues, and if it tells Trump anything (other than FFS ban guns!) it should surely be to invest in an infrastructure that supports people with MH issues.

It just made me so sad. We in the Western world have got our priorities all wrong. Look after people when they need it (yes, decision makers on MH funding cuts, I'm looking at you) and so many of the tragedies that happen could be prevented.

Its not a choice between the current situation vs banning guns.
There are controls that could be put in place without banning guns and removing the second amendment completely.
Trump could do more if he wanted to.

And I am not turning it into a "DAE DRUMPF" argument. I haven't seen anyone on this thread do that.
Using moderate, considered language to criticise the position of a political figure is not the same as capslocked, poorly spelt death wishes.

If the deaths of elementary school aged children weren't enough to make American politicians look at their fucked up gun laws then nothing will.

Its works out good for Trump as it keeps the gun issue in the news and the fear of gun control keeps people supporting him.

Prayers dont save people, gun control does.

Irritates the fuck out of me. How many more innocent people have to die before gun laws change in America?!
If i were a student in America I would NOT want to go to school and if I was a parent in America I would want to Home school my children. School is supposed to be a safe place!
