AIBU to ask that if you're 5"1 and a size 12, how much do you weigh? I'm looking for a rough idea!

See this is why weight means nothing really and neither does clothing size - I'm 5ft3.5in and weigh around 9st6, I've got 38 inch hips, 30 inch waist and 40 inch bust and I have to buy size 12/14 bottoms and up to size 16 on top! I run a lot so I might have a bit more muscle I guess but it varies so widely, looking at some of these responses I might weigh the same as someone wearing 2 clothing sizes smaller than me..

SorrelForbes · 13/02/2018 13:05

Clothes sizes are so random. I'm 5' 3.75" and 8st 9.5 lb. 38 inch hips, 26.5 inch waist and 34.5 inch bust. I have sizes 6 - 12 and XS - M in my wardrobe.

Octopus37 · 13/02/2018 13:14

Youcant, you sound similar to me although I am nearly 5ft5. 30E bust, waist about 29, hips about 38. Wear a size 12 usually, sone 10s on top or in forgiving shops which I cannot afford. Weight about 9st4 I think.

TrickyKid · 13/02/2018 13:17

5 2" and 11 stone. The biggest I've ever been at a size 14-16. Need to get back to 8.5 stone but would be happy with 9.

RandomMess · 13/02/2018 13:37

In 6 months a 2 stone weight loss is achievable you need to cut your calories intake. With your height that will be a 2-3 average dress size loss.

I'm 5' and to maintain my weight my calorie intake allowance is around 1400, so to lose weight it's 1200 Sad being short with a petite frame is rubbish!!

Whisperingwinds · 13/02/2018 13:47

MatildaTheCat yup am the same shape as you!

ToastyFingers · 13/02/2018 14:47

I'm 5'2 and was a size 10 top 12 bottom a few months ago. I weighed just short of 10 stone.

DextroDependant · 13/02/2018 14:50

5ft 2 and a half, 10st and a size 12.

Roomba · 13/02/2018 14:53

I'm 5'2" and am currently 8st 4lb, just checked. So I've lost 7lbs in the last year, but then I have been eating less recently (cut out a lot of sugar so far fewer calories over the last few months) . I probably eat about 1200 calories a day at the moment and walk about 6-7 miles every day.

Clothes wise, I start with a 10 in shops, which fits 70% of the time. The rest of my clothes are anything from a 6 (GAP jeans) to size 16 (H&M trousers, I have stuff in almost every size from H&M their sizing is so random!).

Iluvthe80s · 13/02/2018 14:58

Don;t know how much I weigh, Can fit in size 12-sometimes go for a 14 to be on the safe side

LaurieMarlow · 13/02/2018 15:08

I'm 5 ft 2 and weighed 9 stone before pregnancy. That would have been 10 on top, 10/12 bottom depending on cut. I'm an hourglass shape, big bust and hips, small waist.

I'm now 6 months pregnant and not sure what I weigh. I've gained a good bit. Blush

IVflytrap · 13/02/2018 15:35

I'm 5' 2 and 10 stone. I'm usually a size 12 but occasionally 14, depends where I'm shopping.

Queenoftheblitz · 13/02/2018 16:08

5ft 2ins, 9 stone 10 pounds. Dress size 12. 38-30-38.

Beaubeagle · 13/02/2018 16:38

I’m 5’1” 8st 9lbs (which is heavy for me!) and I’m size 8/10. I’m actually amazed at the variations in sizing in on here. Especially people the same height as me but heavier and in a stalker clothes size! It’s quite reassuring to see we’re all different but all ‘normal’ as it were.

Beaubeagle · 13/02/2018 16:38

Smaller not stalker!! 😂

JugglingMummyof2 · 13/02/2018 16:44

5' 2" - 8st 11
Size 10 for normal shops but 8 in East and 12 in Primark.

ghostyslovesheets · 13/02/2018 16:53

5ft 1" and a bit - 9st 10 - size 14

HildaZelda · 13/02/2018 16:57

I'm 5 3', 7 stone 9 lbs and a size 6-8.

Oldsu · 13/02/2018 17:15

5 foot 1 and have no idea what I weigh not interested, even my GP does not know my weight as I refuse to get on the scales (not on any meds that are calculated by weight)

Snortles · 13/02/2018 18:43

I am 5'2 (and a bit) Grin

I just checked and scales read 8st 9. I normally fit into size 6/8 and trousers 8/10.

minipie · 13/02/2018 20:04

I'm 5'2", scraping 5'3".

I'm 55 kilos or about 8 and 3/4 stone. Size 8.

10 months ago I was more like 9 3/4 stone, size 10-12. It was flab not muscle weight.

I lost a lot of weight quickly by really increasing my walking and (mainly) by eating a hell of a lot less. I always ate healthily but was just eating way too much - breakfast, full large meal at lunch and dinner, portion size to match DH. Now I have a small lunch and a decent but not enormous dinner. No breakfast.

It can be done. If you want to.
