Half term - how much do you plan for a 12 & 14 year old

Until recently I always made sure I planned outings & activities for the kids in the holidays and would take time off work. However, they're now at the stage that they can safely be left home alone for a few hours while I work and have started to moan if I suggest a trip to a museum or something! The 12 year old is quite good at making plans With friends while the 14 year old, who is more introverted, will happily mooch round the house watching tv/gaming. Therefore, apart from one day out, I've planned absolutely nothing for them. I will go to work, their dad is around most of the week but tends to do diy rather than take them anywhere. However, am now feeling a bit guilty as 12 year old hasn't arranged to see any friends (though still time I guess) although 14 year old has amazingly invited a friend round for a gaming session one day.

If you have kids this age, what do they do in the holidays?

My DS is the same. He is nearly 14 and would happily stay in and watch Netflix or play PlayStation. Any suggestion I make for days out aren't too welcome unless it's shopping for him or go out for food or to see his baby nephew. The weather has been rubbish and cold so none of his pals have been out much either. His football team training will still be on so he'll go to that at night but during the day will sleep till lunchtime then mooch about not doing much. My DD is 11 she helps out at a stables so she has arranged to go there. I'm off work but will be on taxi duty. Xxx

DD's 11 and 12 are with their dad for the first bit of the week so he is Disney dadding the hell out of it...Hmmall good for them though as they are doing things I probably couldn't afford to...the second bit of the week they are with me and I am working from home for most of it...they have friends coming over but we will mainly hang out at home-might go to Westfield or similar on Friday.
If I have then for the whole week I usually plan one day out somewhere they want to go, and the rest we just mooch-which they quite like.

I use these holidays for catching up with mundane stuff.
We will maybe have a meal out or trip to the cinema, but otherwise it's dentist, optician, buy new dance shoes, school trousers, haircuts etc.
All the stuff that's hard to do during term time.
