Does mumsnet ever ban or sanction persistent troll hunters

Just that really
I have noticed on some threads even when HQ comes in and says they have checked out the person and they are not a troll posters on here still pile in with troll accusations.
The procedure is to report and then let HQ decide, I have been accused of being a troll a few times and it can really hurt so I dread to think how someone who has really got up the courage the post about things.
Why can’t people just report if they have suspicions and leave it to HQ rather then have a go at the Op who is more then likely genuine.

Hello all,

These threads tend to get removed because they take a bit of a turn. We don't want to put a stop to the discussion, so can we ask that TGs are stuck to? It's fine to disagree with each other in a robust way, but we think this can be done with civility.

We know we sound like a broken record - but please do report suspected trolls to us - we just don't allow troll-hunting and that's unlikely to change any time soon. We know the trolls are tedious, too, and we take them very seriously, but we don't think that open troll-hunting on threads is the answer.

Feel free to drop us a line with any concerns - either by reporting or mailing in at: [email protected].

Thanks Flowers

As pax says, Potsandpans1 - when troll-hunting posts are reported to us, we delete them. If the poster's a persistent offender, we will have a word and if they carry on breaking guidelines, we will suspend or ban.
