To ask you to recommend travel games for 8yo DD?

We're off to the canaries next week for half term and it's looking like the weather will be cooler than we had hoped. The forecast is suggesting temperatures in the high teens and some cloud. Still very pleasant and I'm sure we'll have a good time, but we might not want to sit around the pool all day!

So I'm thinking about taking a few games to play. DD likes Uno, scrabble and card games. Can I ask you what other games you would recommend?

Have a look at gamewright games - lots of card games, so quite portable and good fun. Sushi Go and Slamwich are favourites with us.

Bananagrams is a bit like scrabble but faster and more portable! Lots of fun for playing with different ages as you play your own game rather than one board in the middle.
Dobble is great too. I remember my dad teaching me games with traditional playing cards at that age, things like rummy, sevens, patience - it might be fun to take a deck of cards and a how to play book.

I've bought monopoly and Boggle card games and will take a pack of cards, uno, scrabble and a doodle game that's a bit like Pictionary. Thank should entertain us all! I'm going to look for a quiz book at the airport too.

How about a Compendium of games like this? Has 10 in one games and usually comes with things like Ludo etc.

Normally I'd say pass the bomb junior edition but perhaps a bit big for travelling. Brilliant for at home though! Pass the pigs is an excellent call.
