Is because you bleed so much you never have sex? Hmm

I bled for the first month of having the patch. I didnt have that reaction the two other times i have started/restarted it. The bleeding luckily stopped after that first month so hopefully it is just your body getting used to it. I'd advise stopping for the break and then hopefully next cycle will be "normal"

NeeChee · 08/02/2018 20:17

I was the same, tried a few different ones. I even set an alarm on my phone to take it at the exact same time. Doctors were unhelpful, suggestions were cervical ectropion (it wasn't), and ovulation bleeding (which it shouldn't be, really?)
I got used to wearing black underwear constantly.
I've now got a Mirena IUD and it has given me some reprieve. I still get very light periods and occasional mid cycle bleeding, but I can wear white pants for most of the month if I want now :)

Whatshallidonowpeople · 08/02/2018 20:18

Yippee to the white pants. The only good thing is that I no longer have to use 3 super plus tampons and a night towel all the time

That's how it worked for me, along with completely destroying my libido in the first place and flattening my mood.

Tried lots of different ones including triphasic and eventually gave up.

MujosMama · 08/02/2018 20:23

I know it's a faff but do go back and try other brands. I went through 5-6 before I found one that I didn't bleed on and it was such a relief. It's usually because the hormone levels in more modern brands are lower, so maybe ask to try a first generation brand like Cilest, or a triphasic one?

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 08/02/2018 20:23

I also had no bleeding at all with Cerelle. I've got the implant now and I've only had a tiny bit of spotting/cramping.

I hope you can find something that works for you Flowers

Hogtini · 08/02/2018 20:24

I used to spot every day on the pill (Cilest). Drove me insane. I ended up having a colposcopy (other things going on too) because they couldn't work out if it was the pill or something else. So much better for coming off it and switching to Mirena coil.

Trashboat · 08/02/2018 20:29

Cerazette her also.

Not had a bleed, or period pain since I started it years ago.

I know people say messing with nature and all that, but I love it.

The back ache and abdominal pain I used to suffer with were horrendous. My back pain especially.

I couldn't stand up for more than a few minutes.

So I said bye bye mother nature and have never regretted it ever.

I am period and pain free and will continue to be so for as long as possible.

HateTheDF · 08/02/2018 20:29

The doctors gave up with me and the pill, I have tried so many of them and bled every day with them.

DerelictWreck · 08/02/2018 20:31

I've been taking my pill (loestrin) back to back so haven't had a period or any bleeding in 3 years Grin

I'd suggest a word with your GP, OP. Doesn't sound right at all

Mailawaymailawaymailaway · 08/02/2018 20:33

Microgynon worked like a charm for me for a decade. Cezarette (which a male GP insisted I transferred to) was absolute hell. Non-stop bleeding and mood-swings. I swear, taking Cezarette must be a plausible defence against murder.

Now I'm not taking any hormonal contraception.

I hate my GP. Microgynon used to regulate my period and my skin beautifully. Sad

AnnieAnoniMouse · 08/02/2018 20:39

I loved microgynon and took the pill back to back, no periods for years. Fabulous. Dr refused to give it to me after I turned 38. My periods are getting worse and worse. I’d kill for microgynon again, but my Dr says it’d kill me first 🙄.

Whatshallidonowpeople · 08/02/2018 20:54

I'm late 40s and have been taken off microgynon due to blood pressure. Maybe there is some way I can lower my sex drive?

OP posts:
Rowgtfc72 · 08/02/2018 21:01

Also late 40s and been on the mini pill for ten years since having Dd. Still have a period every month but its just a three day thing. Crossing my fingers the pill is holding off the menopauseSmile

As an aside I get up at 4am for work. Great libido killer.

aleto · 08/02/2018 21:04

I've recently decided to stop the mini pill. I've been on it for 8 months and have had bleeding or spotting for approximately half of that time. Plus low mood and anxiety which has affected my relationship. I kept hoping it would settle but sadly it hasn't. Can't wait to get back to my normal self!!

seven201 · 08/02/2018 21:29

I tried about 4 different types of pill and had light bleeding most of the month. I persisted with one for 6 months before I gave up. Condoms it is!

Whatshallidonowpeople · 08/02/2018 21:30

We struggle with condoms sadly

OP posts:
Ontheboardwalk · 08/02/2018 22:03

I was also taken off microgynon was gutted.

Put on mini pill Cerelle and was really not happy because I had bad experiences on the mini pill many years ago (constant bleeding)

Honestly Cerelle was the best thing ever, I haven’t bled for years. Did feel rotten for the first 6 months or so and felt really down. The lack of bleeding make me stick with it tho. I’m glad I did

BertrandRussell · 08/02/2018 22:04

When you say “we” struggle with condoms................??

CakeOfThePan · 09/02/2018 16:44

I had this after dc, for some reason the mini pill no longer agreed with me, so I went with the injection expecting it to be the same. But it was amazing. You can’t be on it long term but it was a good 2 years of no bleeding.

MrMeSeeks · 09/02/2018 16:59

I never bled on either pills ( except when i had the break)
I loved being on cerezette!
I'd go back to the gp.
