AIBU that this is a silly amount to leave?

DH served me up some ice cream yesterday. The portion was a little stingy but I assumed it was the end of the pot so a little over one scoop would do.

Today he said there was a little left if I wanted to finish it off. I went to investigate... it’s less than half a scoop! This is a Ben & Jerry’s 500ml tub for proportions size.

I ate it with a teaspoon so it lasted longer... it still felt like a tease.

I know! At least I didn’t have a go at him about it. He did do the toilet roll thing though earlier! I promise!

It's the person who leaves one sheet of loo paper on the roll rather than changing the roll that drives me mad.

WhiteVixen · 07/02/2018 20:34

@DryHeave my husband is cut from the same cloth as yours. There's always a tiny amount left. Drives me mad.

BestestBrownies · 07/02/2018 20:55

DP used to call those dribs and drabs left in bottles and containers etc a fanny full.

As in, "Oh, there's only a fanny full left, you/I may as well finish it."

USED TO

He knows better now

MiddleClassProblem · 07/02/2018 21:16

A fanny full? Oh my! Glad you knocked that out of him!

last confessions: DH was washing DD’s hair whilst I scoffed his ice cream

I am a bit disappointed that this thread isn't about some crazy inheritance, tbh.

Bluntness100 · 07/02/2018 21:40

WTAF. A fanny full. I'd have chibbed him.

Anyways, my husband does this but when cooking. Like making chilli he will, leave a quarter of the mince. Cooking sausages he will leave one in the pack. It used to drive me nuts, they were never used up, although he promised so,always binned, but had he cooked them, the leftovers would have been eaten.

Now I wait till he's done his stuff, then I go into the kitchen, and add whatever weird thing he's put back into the fridge intoto the pot. He's actually never even noticed.

Bizzare.

I leave small bits behind - not a dribble but enough to not need to be rinsed. The reason being is that I don’t feel the need to eat more just to finish a packet of something...

It annoys DH.

He’s the one with the pot belly though Wink

PinkHeart5914 · 07/02/2018 21:49

Oh i would of been so disappointed with that amount of ice cream!

blueletter · 07/02/2018 22:02

my DC does this. I have figured out why; its so DC doesn't have to lie to me to say its all gone. because technically its not.

smart arse.

mummmy2017 · 07/02/2018 22:14

I do wonder at my DC doing this, now one cooks for herself, she admits how much she hates it.
Sa far DD2 has , left 3 biscuit packs empty on the table 2 bottle of water a cup has been there for 5 days, I am trying for a week, she has no idea there is a bet going on about it, I get dinner out if we hit 8 days...
