Met at a restaurant. We'd booked a table so are asked to sit at the bar while table is prepared. This bloke then starts rummaging around in his pockets to see how many drinks he can afford. He then starts adding up loose change at the bar. So embarrassing.

As we were eating he said "well, what do you think?"

I said "it's nice, good food" so he said "not that! Me! What do you reckon?" He then presented himself with his arms. How the fuck are you meant to reply to that??

"Yeah you're amazing, good job!"
"You're a bit shit to be honest, I was hoping for better" ??!

Did they accept cards at the bar (or did he know if they did)? It might be that he wasn't sure he had enough cash on him.

The 'what do you think' thing though... Well, can't blame a guy for trying. Grin

He counted out his loose change at the bar to see how much he could afford to drink?

I'd've had an emergency to get to then and there

Sorry Wellfuckme, I don't think counting loose change at the bar indicates an openness with finances! It is more likely to suggest he has no finances to be open about, or he's very tight and insists on using up all his loose change instead of letting it collect around his house and car like normal people.

I wouldn't have managed to get through the first one, tbh, never mind be contemplating a second! Are you really unsure whether you should see this clown again?

Oh God, no! Dating is such a minefield... it was no coincidence that myself and some lovely women I knew took a “rest” from the whole dating thing, in our mid 30’s. I was worn out constantly explaining why I hadn’t been snapped up and meeting for lunch in bloody awful pubs only to be bored ridgid by hard luck stories of unrequited love or worse, how all women were bitches. This latter was a doctor who I met through a friend but didn’t want to see again and who then told HER that if I apologised for my behaviour, having left early, he might consider seeing me again!

Don’t get involved with this man. Time’s are hard for many people but you don’t rake through your coppers, to see how drunk you can get.

Maybe he's a secret millionaire and its all a trap to see whether the OP is only interested in money Grin
