When another woman insults your looks

Posting for traffic really.
Long and short got sent a email from exh gf. Had to pick up dc from it (exh) won't go into details why just that dc should not have been there.

She was writing about my looks i.e. Looking old haggard showing your age etc. I didn't read the rest of email as seriously could not care less. But I was wondering do women that insult others looks age are they jealous or something?

I found it a bit weird fwiw no words exchanged at my picking up dc.

Which women are obsessed?how did your surmise this?
I could easily discuss merits of which mascara. Cream vs powder blusher
I’m not obsessed I simply like make up and perfume.and make no apologies for it

Appuskidu · 06/02/2018 21:24

I can’t totally make out the OP- did you read an email that wasn’t meant for you, about you? Or was it sent to you? The two are quite different and I would probably react in quite a different way depending on which it was.

OutyMcOutface · 06/02/2018 21:28

Honestly, I would just forward it to your ex and ask him to deal with it. The last thing you want is for her to get it into her head to start sone kind of war against you.

SockUnicorn · 06/02/2018 21:51

@oldstudentmum I would be grateful thats all she could pluck to call you. You didnt have a dirty house, weren't a rubbish wife, a cheater, selfish, a crap mum, abusive or controlling. You're older than her. If thats the worst she has then you're nailing the shit out of life. Carry on as you are!

mumofthemonsters808 · 06/02/2018 22:05

It doesn't mean they are jealous, it means they validate woman only by their looks and this forms the basis of their judgement. In your case it's been very harsh, but I wouldn't get hung up on this, it only matters if you value their opinion.

I know lots of people like this, it's not shocking or a big deal, it's just the way some people are.

Longdistance · 06/02/2018 22:07

No one likes sloppy seconds.

magoria · 06/02/2018 22:18

How sad that she did this. Says a lot more about her than you.

Just delete and ignore. She is not worth your time.

halfwitpicker · 06/02/2018 22:21

It's because she's jealous

TitaniasCloset · 06/02/2018 23:04

I'm with Toasty it's often the people that can see their own flaws and swan about like they are marvellous that get bitchy like this. Mind you perhaps even that is from a deep sense of insecurity? Either way it's bad form and she has embarrassed herself and shown herself to be a bitch.

SpiritedLondon · 06/02/2018 23:25

Some people are so obsessed with the idea of looks ( over anything like personality or intellect) that they naturally target that in an attempt to hurt someone else ( because they imagine they we all operate in the same way) You hear it all the time with regards weight for example " fat cow ". It shows you where her head is at. Personally my response would be " thick bitch" which probably indicates where my own head is at.

TitaniasCloset · 06/02/2018 23:39

Spirited true. They tend to be the nastiest of women though. It's playground insults, ha ha fatty and all that.

oldstudentmum · 07/02/2018 17:30

Thanks guys xx
She has sent emails in past and I have replied. But this time emailed the ex to thank him for her childish email. On another note she has a criminal record for malicious emails/messages no real surprise there.
The best way forward is to live life be happy! It will annoy them more lol Grin

The best revenge is a life well lived.

It's probably best to ignore it, though I'd be sorely tempted to say something like 'u ok hun?' with a pitying head tilt whenever I saw her and just pretend to feel really sorry for her.

TitaniasCloset · 07/02/2018 21:17

Oh so she is a proper nut job? Stay away and don't engage with her again OP.

oldstudentmum · 07/02/2018 21:39

TitaniasCloset Hell yeah!

RowenasDiadem · 07/02/2018 21:45

If she's a nutcase from Leith you have my sympathies.

Personally I'd have to do the "You okay hun?" ::head tilt and faux concern smile::
She pathetic.
