WTAF is Kik?!?!

One of my best mates is on a dating website looking for an actual long term relationship, we were together last night and she said lots of men who are in relationships / married keep asking if she has "Kik" - we looked it up and its a messagaing app but you don't need the persons phone number, just a made up username.

It just made me think of all the poor people on here who suspect their partners and its all facebook, whatsapp and texts and now it seems theres this bloody anonymous app!!!

Surely you would only have it on your phone if you have something to hide. It made me feel ill when she said most men ask if she has it and if she would be up for some "NSA" fun.

You're right OP, it's really sad that these things are used in this way.. you don't realise how many people cheat until you start online dating. When I was doing it I used to call them out on it and ask why they were doing it! It's probably popular with men using prostitutes too.. there's a punting forum that is frequently linked to on here and the married men are always thinking of new ways to cover up their communication.
It's just a sad thought that people get married, have kids, all the happy stuff and then they do this.

Kik is used by predators to groom young children. It is one of the most risky apps for children to have on their phones.

The biggest concern with kik is that it is targeted at children and teenagers and the very large number of predators who are using the app to prey on children.

Adults having affairs are of least concern.

I use kik to screen men from sex/dating websites - not giving out my number to anyone til we’ve met a few times.
