to just feed him Pot Noodle?

My 11 yr old ds is the worst eater. He claims to be vegetarian but hardly eats vegetables. He doesn't like any quorn type foods, doesn't like 'fake' burgers or sausages. He eats maybe 4 bites of something or will dip bread in soup but not actually eat it with a spoon.

He's healthy enough and very active so I'm not worried about that, he's obviously getting what he needs from somewhere but I haven't a clue where.

I'm just thoroughly sick of making meals he turns his nose up at. He's the only vegetarian so I have to make something different for him. And I am a really bad cook anyway. It's not something I enjoy.

He has weetabix for breakfast, takes a vitamin tablet designed for vegetarians and he eats lots of fruit. So he's not totally without nutrition I guess.

So wibu to just make him a pot noodle every night and save myself a whole load of stress? Feeding him is honestly the most stressful part of my day.

I am so tempted to just go to the cash and carry tomorrow and buy 48 pot noodles.

Not entirely relevant, but did you know that even the meaty Pot Noodles are vegetarian? So he could still have plenty of variety in his diet 😀

Excellent result, op.
You could try giving him a veggy cookbook for you both to cook a meal for the whole family once a week, too.
kale has loads of iron.

Nuts for snacks is a good idea too.

Kale crisps are lush too - kale on a baking sheet with olive oil. Lots of recipes online

Chicken and mushroom pot noodles were a key source of my nutrition during pregnancy nausea when I couldn't put real food in my mouth without triggering a gag reaction.
Baby's alright, he's a very fit, healthy 7 year old now Grin

I'm glad OP has found some more inspiration.

Kale is nice stir fried with some noodles.
Beans on toast?
If he leaves the pasta and tomato sauce then the next day put it in the oven with a bit of cheese on top and he has a pasta bake.

I remember discovering as a vegetarian university student that all pot noodles were veggie, that was a great day Grin

I have an 11 year old boy is who is a fussy eater so I feel your pain op. Mealtimes are an absolute nightmare and I dread them. He will only eat cereal, fish fingers, pizza, chicken goujons and of course sweets. He is very healthy despite his diet.

Have you tried to get him helping when cooking dinner? Or how about rewarding him for trying new foods?

I went vegetarian at that age. I was told to cook my own and I did.
I put things on the shopping list so Mum bought the things I asked for.

No longer vegetarian but I think it did me the world of good to have to cook my own! Tough love time.
