People who take photos of the bride walking down the aisle

Who are not the photographer... why?!?! If you want a photo why not wait for the professional ones to come out instead of getting a low quality/bad angle shot. And it makes photos of the guests and bride look shit because everyone is standing looking at their phone! No one actually really looks at the bride, just through their phone Hmm

we were asked beforehand not to turn and look at the bride because the photographer (who was stood at the front next to the registrar) didn't want pictures of the backs of our heads.

See, on my wedding day, I hired the photographer to capture the day, not to 'stage' it.

it's very bad form to post pics before the bride & groom do.

Me & family are not British... I don't think we have those expectations.
Last wedding, the bride (my cousin) told us what hashtag to use when posting our pics, and clearly wanted them as soon as we were ready to post (signs up at the reception to remind us). The more pics the sooner the merrier!

Similar the year before at another cousin's hitching. Deffo pics online of groom dancing & other cousins drinking before the ceremony even started.

I wonder if the bride knew they were going to do that. It seems such a shame. At any weddings I've been at I think it's lovely seeing the bride come in and then go down the aisle spotting people as she goes. Not turning to look seems really odd

Most people here don't want pictures posted before the evening guests have seen the bride, it takes away from the impact of the dress etc I suppose.

I don't think that's a fixed cultural value in the UK. There seem to be a variety of practices with some people more welcoming of social media use and others more controlling about image.
