Most bizarre situation happened last night...don't know what to think?!

Last night me and DH went out for a few drinks at a local pub. I went to the toilet, and as I was washing my hands a man stormed in accompanied by a woman, he shouted out "it's fine I'm gay" and the woman laughed to herself.

I thought nothing more of it and went outside to join DH. All of a sudden the man, accompanied by two women came over to me and accused me of reporting him to the bar staff as he had been warned not to enter the women's toilets again.

The three of them were clearly ready for an argument and seemed disappointed when I said I had absolutely no idea what they were talking about. DH was furious.

Anyway, I really have no idea what to make of the whole situation today. Would it have really been a problem if I DID make a complaint about it??? Is that not in my rights to do so??

They won't even have to download a form, they'll just rely on you assuming that's what they've done. Because for the most part no one will ever, ever challenge it out loud.

Welcome to the brave new world where women's feelings are inconsequential and all must be done to appease men's feelings.

Should you recognise the bullshit please come join us on the feminist board.

Soon all men like that will need to do to enter the ladies loo will be to essentially download and sign a form declaring they're a woman and there will be nothing anyone can do about it....progress!
They won't even have to go to that trouble, but simply "identify as" a woman or as gender fluid by making the decision to themselves and then go in unimpeded.

Being gay doesnt make him a woman,,Lavs are for women or men.
Personally it wouldnt have bothered me,,its not as if he was watching me actually having a wee and blotting my fluff at a distance of 6 inches.

Snowman123 · 04/02/2018 13:11

He's an idiot

  1. for being in the ladies
  2. for being surprised that he was pulled up on this
  3. for confronting you, and
  4. for looking for a fight

You know you did nothing wrong, sounds like you were completely dignified and he sounds like a prize muppet.

TheFirstMrsDV · 04/02/2018 13:16

Its not bothered me probably because I was a teen in the 80s when we all used what ever club toilet we wanted to. You didn't bat an eyelid at seeing Boy George in the ladies at Blitz.

I think the toilet issue has become a distraction from other, far more important issues.

Back to the OP, they were pissed and attention seeking. I bet those women boast about having a gay bestie. I had a group like that sitting behind me at an community pantomime.
Lots of shrieking and 'Oh whata bitchhhh!' stuff. It was fucking tedious.
They might of well have been shouting 'LOOOOK at us. We are incredibly BORING but we have a camp friend so LOOOK at us!'

Since there isn't even a Bill before Parliament saying that, this seems a bit premature.

thegreylady · 04/02/2018 13:37

Surely if you have a penis you don’t need the ladies..

HidingUnderARock · 05/02/2018 11:11

Sounds like he wanted to be reported so the bar staff would have to take action so he could be in the papers.
No wonder they looked disappointed when nobody could be bothered to rise to it.
