Dds has got a Sunday paper round delivering a free news paper.
What would you think is the earliest she can start without pissing people off? She wants to start at 9 but not sure if this is too early on a Sunday.

9am would be too late for me.

TieGrr · 04/02/2018 08:11

She's just popping a paper through a letterbox? Any time should be fine.

thisgirlrides · 04/02/2018 08:16

I would expect a paper delivery by 8:30 /9 at the latest so I can read it with breakfast!

mumonashoestring · 04/02/2018 08:17

I used to have mine done by 8 latest, people want the weekend papers to read over breakfast.

FluttershysCutieMarkTheHerald · 04/02/2018 08:20

I used to start my round at 6.30. 9 is too late.

megletthesecond · 04/02/2018 08:20

If it's free then after 9 would be ok.

Virgil4 · 04/02/2018 08:21

DS starts his paid round at 7am. However, they are for people that have paid for them so are likely to want the paper early for breakfast time.

For a free paper, I’d say she’s right with 9am. Any earlier and she could find people annoyed by a free paper being delivered early on a Sunday morning.

ElderflowerWaterIsDelish · 04/02/2018 08:22

Depending on how big her delivery area is she needs to aim to get her papers delivered in time for breakfast as many people like to read the newspaper with breakfast, and 9am seems too late for a paper delivery to finish and that's the time she wants to start at Confused meaning some people may get their newspapers at 10 or 11 o clock if she has a big delivery area and is going on foot

Moonandstars84 · 04/02/2018 08:23

That's why I thought later better virgil but glad people think 9am is fine.
I am clearly over thinking.

Free papers aren’t the ones you read over breakfast! 9am would be fine Smile

Moonandstars84 · 04/02/2018 08:24

It's just a freebie paper. Mainly adverts so not really something people would want to read with their breakfast.

Free papers go straight in the recycling here. I'd be very pissed off is something came through the door before 9/9.30 on a Sunday.

crisscrosscranky · 04/02/2018 08:24

I'd have started at 8. Agree that if it were a paid paper I'd expect it early on a Sunday.

Abracadabraapileofbollocks · 04/02/2018 08:25

I used to do an am round. To be honest I was generally home by 8 at weekends, 7 weekdays.

Moonandstars84 · 04/02/2018 08:27

Thanks everyone. I think she will go with starting at 9.

DS does one on a weekday evening. The newspaper company put in the blurb he has to do them by 8pm. Does it say anything in her contract about times?
It wouldn't bother me how early one got delivered. Ours is a really good read. Grin

Moonandstars84 · 04/02/2018 08:44

They just need to be delivered on the day. No actual time stated.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 04/02/2018 08:48

I wouldn't worry too much on that case. People will complain to the newspaper if they have an issue.
Make sure she pushes the paper all the way through the door, people can be funny about that. And watch out for letterboxes that cut fingers!

Nizuc · 04/02/2018 08:51

How old is she?

What do the distributors say? DD worked for SMART.

What are your council regulations for working children?

Will she need a licence?

My DD used to deliver a free paper but it had to be on two week nights between 4 and 6 iirc.
