To call Peppa Pig’s “adventure” a big fat rip off?

DD aged 2 loves Peppa, so I became vicariously excited for her when
I learned Peppa’s coming to town: southendtheatres.org.uk/Online/tickets-peppa-pigs-adventure-southend-2018

At £20 a ticket and just £2 off for concessions, it will cost a minimum of £38. I’m not badly off by any means, but this is a blatant rip-off and automatically excludes anyone who does have to budget tightly. Making Peppa’s adventure a very middle-class pursuit.

DD will have to stick to YouTube, she’ll be none the wiser for it.

I agree with you that it's a shame that some people can't afford these luxuries but I'm not sure why you're surprised? The theatre is expensive. It's not a harsh lesson for a Peppa Pig fan to learn. Tickets are generally paid for by parents rather than 2yos.

The price of food or living sometimes exclude those that have to budget tightly. I'm sure they're more worried about that than wether their kid will get to see peppa or not.
I mean come on,it's frikking Peppa Pig.

Is this the show with the puppets? It's bloody brilliant. Worth every penny of £38.

Sorry that's not quite the response you were hoping for OP.

Yes - subsidised Peppa Pig for all - far more important than care for older people, the NHS and money for schools

RebelRogue · 04/02/2018 01:27

Why do some people call her Pepper anyways?!?

gluteustothemaximus · 04/02/2018 01:46

TIs what it is I guess.

We don’t do:

Swimming
Cinema
Theatre
Eating Out
Theme Parks
Zoos
Soft play
Clubs/activities
Anything else that costs money

My Brother’s kids:

Ballet
Theatre
Weekly swimming
Flute lessons
Piano lessons
Tennis lessons
Drama classes
Regular cinema
Regular eating out
Probably more

Money does dictate the fun stuff. And opportunities.

It’s just the way it is.

Seems a reasonable cost for me... But then I spent £40 on a takeaway for two people last night.

I see your £38 and raise you £135, which my mum and I split between us so I could go to a gig I wanted to see. I paid back half and the rest was my x-mas and birthday presents. The tickets weren't that much originally but my mum had to get mine through a resale site because they sold out so fast! It was worth it though! Grin
