All my FB friends kids seem to be doing this. Is this one big, fat money making thing like Rock Choir?

My son did it last week. He's not a particularly jazz hands kind of kid but really enjoyed it. I think it's much more fun for the kids than the spectators to be honest. It's hard to see your kids and the backing music is too loud for my liking. But for the kids it's an amazing experience. Tickets at the O2 were twenty quid. Our school paid for the transport - kids at our school have v little money but we are lucky enough to be inner London so transport never expensive.

It's only good if you and your kids aren't up in the gods of the O2. The year mine were up on the 4th rake they were seldom allowed out their seats and many were terrified of the height and the angle. We also as parents couldn't see them.

I, and many other parents, felt the whole show is a big money spinning con tbh with you.

The celebrity for ours one year was that awful girl from some talent show Connie something.

My DD did this for the first (and possibly, as she is in year 6, the last) time this year and absolutely loved it. It was expensive - we bought the t-shirt, tickets, DVD and transport for ourselves - but the school paid for the children's travel. It was a much bigger production with lights than I was expecting tbh.

We took binoculars and spotted her with those, although once you knew where she was she was easy to spot without them.

It was a very long day for the staff and children, but the children loved it and so did most of the parents judging by the comments thanking the staff. I haven't seen anyone from ours that didn't like it and a few are now trying to get hold of the DVD!

Perhaps the venue makes a difference.

My dd did this and loved it. Again she had been looking forward to it for ages as although she was in choir in y3 they didn't go. Loads of the boys joined the choir just because they wanted to do that!

Lots of schools at the Sheffield arena we went to had large school banners tied to railings and walls to make them easier to spot!

Bumpowder might have been the same one as dd did.
