I've a 15 year old DD who wants to be veggie...and adores Quorn. We're cooking lots with it and seems surprisingly versatile ... love Bolognese sauce made with it

But friends have told us to find out what's really in it and that we should avoid it if we want to eat healthily

I'd just thought low-fat mushroomy thing - seems brilliant invention

Whats so bad about it?

I'm not obsessive and fixated on Quorn. I just can't stand people using poor quality 'logic' to justify multinational corporations eroding customer rights.

Talking of poor quality 'logic'. Yes people are allergic to all sorts of things. Does that mean we should have no restrictions whatsoever on what is sold as suitable for human consumption? Of course not. So where do we draw the line?

In my opinion, a man-made food stuff that blatantly causes adverse reactions in large numbers of people who consume it should be subject to large-scale independent testing, with the results made public. That hasn't happened with Quorn. Why? Because the ethos in this country since the 80s has been that the rights of multinationals are more important than the rights of the people.

That's an ethos that I fundamentally disagree with. In this case it has resulted in the substantial risks of eating this crap being swept under the carpet.
