To demand the media stop using the phrases child porn ams child erotica?

Twice this week I have read these terms used to describe images and videos of horrific child sexual abuse.

I particularly found the use of these terms in the reporting of Mark Sallings's death upsetting as it appeared to minimise his crimes and focus on his "tragic" death.

I feel very strongly that these terms need to be banned as they misrepresent the seriousness of child sexual abuse.

"Child porn is abuse of children."

"Regular porn is abuse of women."

No, and that's ignoring the fact that not all porn stars are female. I think your likening of the two is pretty low.

"Calling it Child Porn doesn't convey what it is, it doesn't get the immediate message across that their is a Victim, they are abuse images, so why not call them that?"

Of course it does. Who in their right mind thinks 'child porn' is okay or victimless? Can you name one (who isn't in prison)? I have a feeling you can't.

For me, child abuse related to is things like physical assault, starving etc. Child porn is clearly sexual.

Absolutely. Child and erotica don't belong in the same sentence. It is images of child abuse

You have no idea which people haven't been caught or the numbers. By definition you can't. I think you're missing the point though, Saville and people who are yet to be caught are not in their right mind.
