Mine are booked in on Monday. Late I know.

I’m dubious after years of living with a conspiracy theorist...

I’ve read for and against views. People say it isn’t a live vaccine but have gotten ill after the jab?

I’m sat outside Tesco contemplating going in and getting it done now and just not telling OH...

Don’t get why you would “keep it to yourself “. If DH wants to be a knob that’s his lookout. Problem is, a lot of people say they have flu, when they have a cold. Flu is evil, you just want to die. It’s potentially deadly, why wouldn’t you protect yourself ? The vaccine can make you feel a little ropey for a couple of days, this is caused by your body producing anti bodies. It is impossible to bet the flu from it. I always have the jab and have never had any side effects.

milliemolliemou · 31/01/2018 20:40

First time I've had one and it was completely painless, no side effects. DCs and OP have them because OP is ancient and DCs have asthma.

Mydcaremarvel...I don’t understand your comment.
I did get my flu vaccine for free from my GP..I was referring to if your CCG paid for the triple or quad vaccine as that is what you would be given at your dr.
Not sure about just walking into boots and getting it free..unless you fall into a vulnerable person category ..reasonably sure you would have to pay for it otherwise.
For what it’s worth I think everyone should get vaccinated if not only to protect yourself but to protect those who are vulnerable around you.

I thought all injectables were tri, and sniff was quad.

Is it actually some tri injectables and some quad injectables? And is there more than one version of sniff too?

dementedpixie · 31/01/2018 21:50

There is a tri and quad injectable. The nasal one is quad

capercaillie · 31/01/2018 21:55

I have it due to being asthmatic and DD had it due to year group at school.

DH didn't have it and has just had flu.

DS hasn't had but OK so far.

I did have a couple of days of feeling very tired which I put down to the jab - different to my usual tired.

MyDcAreMarvel · 31/01/2018 21:59

79Fleur I meant if your local trust only purchased the tri jab, you could instead get the quad jab for free at Boots as an NHS patient.
No need to need to be affected by cost cutting measures.

MyDcAreMarvel · 31/01/2018 22:00

And that's any patient over 16 entitled to a jab free at the GP, can also get one free at Boots.

I had mine in November as pregnant, no side effects

Imnotposhjustquaint · 31/01/2018 22:07

DD, DP & DSD have all had the flu jab. I haven’t. I got the flu and they didn’t. The end.

catsarenice · 31/01/2018 22:12

DD aged 10 had in October as she has T1 diabetes. She had the nasal spray and had no side effects.
