Does anyone here have a live in nanny?

Hi everyone,

I'm considering employing a live in nanny to help me with my three children aged 8, 4, and 18 months.
Why does having a live in nanny work for you? What are the advantages and disadvantages of live in nannies? Are there any benefits to having a migrant nanny or au pair? I ask this as I'm quite keen to offer a nanny something back by helping her see a bit more of the world support her in learning English.

Thank you!

I have no experience but have friends who done this when you get. Is good way to travel. I’m sure you will find someone. Get the nanny to teach children their native language too. Always good to learn language.

An au pair and a nanny are very different.
A nanny provides full time professional child care. They are an employee and may have qualifications.

An au pair may have no experience and is supposed to be treated as a member of the family. They do light work, not sole care of a baby or several children for long periods. More like a babysitter so good for after school care but not if your children are pre school age.

I used to be a live in Nanny. I’m British, but I’m not from London.

Im a live out nanny now but I worked for some really kind people.
