To sack off the bed and sleep on the floor?

Our DS gets in our bed at 3.30am every morning without fail which is fine but it's uncomfortable and usually means I'm squashed on the side.

I'm seriously thinking of getting rid of our king size bed - turning the mattress horizontally on the floor and buying another king size mattress to put next to it to create a massive mattress on the floor.

My DH thinks I'm ridiculous. Has anyone done this - I need space to sleep!!!

*Oh and it's because we all want to, not because we're "ridiculous" or can't be arsed putting them in their own beds. The older two have their own beds in their room for if they want to have their own space to sleep which they do choose to some nights.

Do whatever works!
We had a spare cot sized mattress on our bedroom floor next to our bed. DD would start in her own room but come thru to the mattress during the night. Saved a lot of tussling in the bed but was less stressful than trying to repeatefly take her back to her own bed.

Oh how I laugh hysterically when people say invest a week and keep returning them to their bed. All very well if you have a weak willed and easily manipulated child. But if you have a strong willed and tenacious child you’ll still be doing this 3months later. Just do whatever you have to to sleep. We had a mattress on Ds floor for a year. At 2 your child might still need mum at night.

Self inflating mattresses (camping ones) are fab and space saving - recommend the 10cm outwell dream catcher more comfortable than a bed

We got a super king bed and it genuinely changed our lives. DS is 18 months and even when he wriggles round and starfish or sleeps sideways, DW and I still have plenty of room either side!
