TV in reception class

DD is in reception. She has said before they do dancing to YouTube videos but today she said 'they watched Masha and The Bear and sat and had a chat' in class. Obviously I take what a four year old says with a pinch of salt but she said no when I asked her if it was wet play and no when I asked if this was at breakfast or after school club. Is it normal to be watching tv programmes in class?

Yes, my DD teachers use you tube a lot, it is usually linked to what they are learning about though. They even give lists of channels to watch at home.

Its pretty normal to have an interactive whiteboard where you can watch tv/video/youtube in class at all years in school. I would talk to teacher before you get worried.

I know my DD in Reception watches things like Numberjacks and Alphablocks in class and my DD in Year 2 watches Newsround. I think that a bit of carefully chosen TV is not necessarily a bad thing.

We watched Words and Pictures in school in the 80s. My best memory of school every is watching Dark Towers.
