... from the President’s Dinner. Hundreds of thousands of pounds that could be used to support children now is presumably just going to sit in some bank account as it’s become toxic. How does that help anyone.

It’s a crazy world here virtue signalling is more important than children’s welfare!

How ridiculous to suggest there was prostitution involved. No one has confirmed this. The hostesses present that evening were all employed by an established agency and came from all walks of life. They had to put up with creepy behaviour on the night and are now being wrongly labelled as prostitutes. Check your facts.

A different group of ladies went in afterwards, dressed in red, according to reports. Apparently they walked straight in and just started kissing the men.

I think there must be even more to that event, or why shut something down after 33 years if so innocent.

I hadn't heard about this so just looked it up. I can see the arguments on both sides, but I tend to agree with GOSH giving back the money, particularly since that course of action is consistent with their pre-existing statement.

I realise it's off topic for this thread, but I also feel very concerned to read that one of the things up for auction was dinner with Boris Johnson and Mark Carney. Big businessmen paying a fortune for the opportunity to speak one-on-one to key policy-makers in our country doesn't sound very democratic to me (yes, I realise this is sadly not that unusual).
