It doesn't really need a diagram but I know AIBU likes a diagram and the weather is crappy so why not Grin I apologise for the shoddiness of it, I think the bin is bigger than the car Blush

So I left my flat earlier and the pesky wind had knocked over 3 communal wheelie bins that my block uses, including one in the road so I picked then all up and returned them to their usual spot. On my return I noticed one was on its side in the road again. It occurred to me that the bin had been placed there deliberately to reserve a parking spot. WIBU to pick the bin up and put it back anyway? I feel a bit Annoying Neighbour for doing it but bins shouldn't be used like that really (wheelie?)

If only I had some heavy recycling to put in the bins to stop them being used like that. Shall I start on the wine? Grin

I’d move it assuming the wind had blown it over, then look out for anyone re-moving it 😄

cakecakecheese · 24/01/2018 11:33

I am keeping an eye out in case 'the wind' blows it back into the road Grin

I’d move it. It’s blocking the public highway.

ObiJuanKenobi · 24/01/2018 11:36

Definitely move the bin and park your car in the space Wink

Nesssie · 24/01/2018 11:36

100% move it back with the others!
And keep moving it back every time, loudly commenting 'this pesky wind causing the bin to block car parking spaces'

Els1e · 24/01/2018 11:37

I would drink a bottle of wine then put it in the bin and put the bin back where it should be. We had this at our block of flats. We have a car space each plus 4 visitor spaces between 15 flats and one of them was saving spaces for her family by moving the bins. One of the neighbours made a little fence to go round the bins. Stopped the problem.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 24/01/2018 11:37

Gosh, you’re right, that is a big bin. Either that or the cars are all Smart cars. Smile

Bitchywaitress · 24/01/2018 11:39

CF! Here you can have my wine bottles.

etap · 24/01/2018 11:39

You had me at with diagram ♥

etap · 24/01/2018 11:40

They should go nick some parking cones from somewhere whistles and use those. Maybe. Not that I'm condoning that Wink

cakecakecheese · 24/01/2018 11:42

I don't drive, WIBU to call my boyfriend and say 'could you take the afternoon off and come and park your car outside my flat to annoy a phantom wheelie bin mover?' Grin

I am ashamed of my diagram but doing a new one would have eaten in to bin moving time.

Yes your DP must leave work immediately to help.

GlitteryFluff · 24/01/2018 11:46

Yep I'd keep moving the bin assuming it was the wind and sit by the window for the rest of the day on bin watch.

cakecakecheese · 24/01/2018 11:50

I work from home, AIBU to email my boss saying: 'My productivity will be low for the rest of the day due to bin watch and reporting any bin watch updates to Mumsnet'?
