To think that soy sauce has no place on a trifle?

The kikkoman advert, steaks, fish, prawns, sauces - all allowed. But trifle?? Are you all going to tell me that it's a thing now? I've rewound, freeze framed and gone for a closer look, definitely some sort of fruity cream thing with a strawberry on top. Why would you do this?

I think they added it to the melting chocolate to make salted chocolate sauce, and thats what was poured over the icecream - i had to watch a few times though!

Ahhh, maybe a salted caramel thing, they add it to brown in a pan which looks savoury to me but possibly could be caramel? Not convinced though.

It has to be really, really good balsamic and only a tiny bit used. Try grilling the strawberries after. Or, use reduced balsamic - the caramelly stuff.

A small dab on tomatoes before they are oven roasted also works well.

Had a great aunt who used to put salt in her custard. That wasn't the biggest of her eccentricities. We didn't eat there often
