Ruined lawn

Trying to keep this vague on perpose. Friend of my boyfriend needed to store somthing as an emergency. Parents are away and we have huge space to store stuff. When they came over this morning he asked to store it inside can be stored outside too. I said what about the grass as it’s all wet so did my partner. By then the van was half on the grass anyway. It’s now stuck and the grass is all churned up. I’m inside fuming. Partners angry but trying to help

It's winter, just hoe the muddy bits flat and put down grass seed. Gently water if it's dry, it'll be good by the summer!

Where meant to be Selling we don’t have till summer we have grass feed so will use some of that might ring my dad see if he still has a grass roller

So you're selling, if I was buying a house a muddy lawn would not be a deal breaker!!

Roll it flat. Plant some seed. Prob won't grow yet, but doesn't cost a fortune.

Assuming photos have been taken just don't draw attention to it when folk are shown around.

Looking at your photo, it doesn't seem a majorly manicured lawn anyway. Just like most of us have - a patch of grass by the drive

Pickledonion24 · 21/01/2018 13:43

What grass should be like it’s mowed regularly but parents are away and the gardener hasn’t been because of the rain

Blimey it's almost perfection! You should see mine!

Haphazardhacker · 21/01/2018 15:45

Leave it, will heal itself. If that worried lightly roll it but I wouldn’t worry too much. (You should see my horses field 😳)

ppeatfruit · 21/01/2018 16:30

Also grass shouldn't be cut short in the winter so it can heal itself quickly if this sort of thing happens. Exdil lives in flats where they have a WEEKLY contract for the gardeners, they scrape away at the lawn doing much more damage than if they had left it every 3 weeks to a month.

Onesmallstepforaman · 21/01/2018 16:34

Use a fork to gently tease the turf back into place. Tamp gently to firm. DO NOT ROLL

Pickledonion24 · 21/01/2018 16:56

I’ve calmed down gone from anger to it’s only grass

Allthewaves · 21/01/2018 17:04

Gently even it out. I would not roll it and pop some grass seed down
