AS for the mackerel thing, yuk. But then I don't like Mackerel

AdaColeman · 20/01/2018 08:43

Haggis with pasta is all kinds of wrong!

Slartybartfast · 20/01/2018 08:44

is he trying to start a trend? tryign it out at home first?

seafoodeatit · 20/01/2018 08:46

Sounds horrible! YANBU!

ButterflyOnTheWindow · 20/01/2018 08:47

You are lucky! My husband served a "fry up" of cabbage, onion and mackeral the other evening all cooked in the same pan at the same time

Mine does this too. Any old combination will do. I blame his mother.

MaudesMum · 20/01/2018 08:47

Smoked mackerel with cabbage is rather fine, especially with peppered smoked mackerel. You fry the cabbage first and then toss in shreds of the fish at the last minute. Healthy and quick!

WingMirrorSpider · 20/01/2018 08:50

Are you married to Heston Blumenthal?

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 20/01/2018 08:50

YANBU. I am shocked to see other posters telling you that combination is acceptable - I am sorry they are trivialising your justifiable horror at his antics.

NeilPetark · 20/01/2018 08:52

🤢

ButterflyOnTheWindow · 20/01/2018 08:53

Agreed it's grim. But did you eat it?

DailyMaileatmyshit · 20/01/2018 08:54

I'm with you.

FIL once served pasta with beef stew. I know it's just a carb, but somehow made me boak.

Aftereights91 · 20/01/2018 08:55

I've got to be honest I like pasta with curry sauce on. Also pasta with peppercorn sauce on. Not spaghetti though only penne or such like

Is he ex-military? My ex-forces DH makes all sorts of revolting combinations that he originally had in the canteen EnvyEnvyEnvy

Fadingmemory · 20/01/2018 09:01

It sounds fine for a one-off or rare "treat". I would have added some vegetables to delude myself. If the taste is good, what's the problem? Fusion "cookery" is a thing, surely. Cheesy strawberry sauce sounds just bleargh, though.

Cmlcml · 20/01/2018 09:03

One word.....divorce 🤢

topcat2014 · 20/01/2018 09:06

Just tip it straight down the toilet to cut out the middleman - bleurgh..

Notso · 20/01/2018 09:11

Oh no, that's wrong.

DS had fish fingers, peas and plain pasta at his friends house, he said he ate it but it was really strange and he doesn't want it again.

Sharkofdestruction · 20/01/2018 09:18

This is a thing. No curry in it though.

RaininSummer · 20/01/2018 09:21

Unusual but would taste similar to curry and rice. I accidentally had curry and noodles in a freezer dinner confusion. Was nice

Trashboat · 20/01/2018 09:29

Curry pasta 😷, but the Mackerel thing sounds good. I mean, I wouldn't make it on purpose, but as a leftover thing, deffo.

CryptoFascist · 20/01/2018 09:31

Pasta with chilli is very nice, we have it often. Have had curry pasta as well and I think it’s delicious, but must admit it reminds me of my young and poor days.

XiCi · 20/01/2018 09:35

It sounds disgusting. Mind you, my friends husband this week made penne pasta with a tin of baked beans over the top, chopped hard boiled eggs over that, topped with slabs of cheddar cheese Grin

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 20/01/2018 09:39

I love pasta and curry sauce. Nothing as fancy as his though. I just use curry sauce from a jar, bit of grated cheese and maybe some crème fraîche. It was one of my favourite quick meals at university and still is now. Very comforting, and easier than cooking rice.

MerryShitmas · 20/01/2018 09:52

Not ex forces, or Heston Blumenthal Grin

Glad to see loads of people think it's grim too. Disgusted by the amount of people who disagree
Yuck. Just yuck. It's not fusion cooking it's an abomination.
