Cars are uncharted territory for me. I have my test on the 6th Feb and so am starting to think about my first car.

Requirements:
•5door
•large enough boot for a pram
•budget £4K
•suitable for a 5" short arse

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Honda Jazz. They aren't the sexiest of cars but they are reliable, easy to drive and like tardis's on the inside. Boot is massive for the size of car.

"I am looking up all of your suggestions and i can't for the life of me seem to find anything at or below my budget from locally dealers"

Where are you looking? Go on autotrader and set it for trade sellers, maximum price and distance from your postcode and you should get loads.
It's not a ridiculously small budget for the cars you're looking at.

Skoda Fabia - practical, good to drive, and relatively inexpensive to run. Also, they tend to be pretty reliable.

another vote for a Honda jazz. my mum has one and although I want to cry from boredom when I drive it - it's a tardis inside, much much bigger than it looks, very reliable and cheap to run and insure. would easily get a nice one for your budget

I’m a nanny (5”2 and learning to drive) and I have a Honda jazz. So much room, easy to drive, enough leg room for kids to walk through and an enormous boot. Really really chuffed with it.

Peugeot 206. Cheap to insure (though hard to get hold of for this reason!)

If it helps I have a mothercare journey and it fits in my fiat 500... just

I just bought my first car - I got a Ford Fiesta and I love it. Cheap to run, nice to drive and cheap as chips to tax and insure too.
