To ask about circumcision?

I didn’t know where to post this- Health? Teenagers? Here for traffic?

Anyway, saw GP today for unrelated issue. Thought I’d ask again about my Pre-teen’s tight foreskin (I’ve asked regularly over the years and kept being told to wait and see). He’s checked it today and is making a referral.

Is full circumcision our only option? GP seems to think so.

We obviously want to explore options.

Thank you.

My DS was referred to urology when he was 3 because of ballooning and spraying everywhere which we noticed during potty training. The cause was a tiny hole. They put him under GA to try to stretch it, but it failed and was circumcised (we gave permission should the stretching fail). It's been fine - no issues at all. He's a happy 14 year old now.

hi,
my son is almost 11 and just had a partial. He has suffered infections from little and later ballooning, spraying and pain when peeing.
I cannot, he cannot and the urologist couldn't even see a hole at the end, rather when it balloons the papercut split which is there instead allows sprayed urine out when under the pressure when its ballooned out and hurts him, the urine left he has too squeeze out and causes infections, so he was finally circumcised on his request. He had abnormal and scarred skin removed and is very happy now. He wouldn't of been able too stretch it as there wasn't really a hole too stretch, it was also sealing with the scar damage causing the increase in pain and would of caused huge issues during puberty and with his life when he has a partner, wished this would of been checked a long time ago but they assumed it was normal tight foreskin and would grow out of it during puberty!

It might be worth contacting Norm UK, who will be glad to advise if your son would prefer to avoid circumcision. They have a Facebook page if you want to look at the work they do.

I believe it's called a preputioplasty
