To feel so utterly depressed by this...

Wednesday afternoons I spend sitting in the waiting room of my local eating disorders unit with my DD. We have been coming here the best part of 2 years.

It's just so utterly bloody depressing. You can tell the newbie parents, they are still perky and hopeful. After a while they look like I do, worn out and defeated.

The girls (because it is mainly girls) are all so pretty, it's odd how stunning they always are. Some of them look so ill, blue lips with the cold.

I go home after this every week feeling so miserable. The distress in the room is so thick you can cut it with a knife. And the sad reality of eating disorders is that 1 in 5 of these girls will one day not be in this waiting room.

I don't know how to bounce back from this. AIBU to be so utterly down with it all?

I'm so sorry to hear this strawberryshortcake. I'm not surprised you feel depressed - I know I would do. You feel so helpless as a parent in these situations.

Have you spoken to anyone about how you are feeling? You need to look after yourself xx

YANBU with feeling low. As previous poster said could you talk through your concerns & worries with someone? 💐
