I am absolutely sick of my horrendous forehead lines. I am in my mid 20's and they just look awful. Any recommendations (other than Botox) on how to reduce them please?

Silly question... do you need glasses? I have a prominent line between my eyebrows that from years of straining to see things/read and not getting my eyes checked!

Second the ordinary range it's fantastic (I'm 32)

Littlefrogletx · 16/01/2018 18:50

Any recommendations on retinol creams?

Bossbaby12 · 16/01/2018 19:13

Thank you all! I'm going to invest in a silk pillow case and some good skin care. I've been using Olay anti ageing night and day cream up to now but I don't know if I'm just wasting my time with them. I'll definitely start making sure my water intake it where it should be each day. I second any recommendations on retinol creams?

Tell us thenGrin
I watched the program with cherry Healey and she was saying look for 0.1% minimum and work upto a higher % as it can cause irritation.
Do you find it makes a difference?

Cantusethatname · 16/01/2018 19:40

I have been having Botox every year since I was 36. I had a deep frown line caused by unequal vision.
I am glad I had Botox, if you find someone you trust and have the minimum, it really does work.

Elephant17 · 16/01/2018 19:47

Lots of fruit, veg and water
Alpha hydroxy acid and retinol (check out the Paula's Choice website)
Serum, moisturiser and SUN PROTECTION!

And try not to pull the faces you know create the lines. Pretty difficult, that one!

Elephant17 · 16/01/2018 19:49

Ps chemical exfoliant are great but much better results if you 'hot cloth cleanse' with a cream/oil cleanser. Your skin will be silky smooth with not a flakey bit in sight

Bossbaby12 · 16/01/2018 19:58

I'll definitely re consider the Botox route in a couple of years if I'm still feeling as self conscious .

Ooooo I'll try the hot cloth cleanse!

Thank you all for your replies ☺️

Lots of moisturiser a retinol cream and a good face scrub every few days.

uthredswife · 16/01/2018 21:10

Can someone recommend a retinol cream that makes a difference? I've been using a high % hylaronic serum and while it's made my skin soft it hasn't done anything to my forehead wrinkles.

I hate my forehead and obsess over it the whole time. I've very tempted to try Botox but I'm afraid if I go down that route I'll always be discontent with my looks.

It seems to me shit loads of people are getting Botox and saying nothing. I'm 36 and so few women my age have wrinkles on their foreheads. Surely they're cheating?

Youcantscaremeihavechildren · 17/01/2018 18:04

My 11s (vertical lines between my eyebrows)are shocking...and full of blackheads which makes them worse. I'm 40 and I have no forehead wrinkles at all but since turning 30 the 11s have got worse. I've just done an order for The Ordinary retinol in squalene...we shall see if it helps!
Mine are due to squinting, frowning because I'm perpetually in a bad mood because of my job and doing a teacher stare across the classroom at silly boys...I'm learning from this thread the booze at the weekends and not drinking enough water might not be helping either! My job is aging me...
I've been brave and added a (slightly odd) pic of my 11s...is the retinol going to help this?

OP - ultimately, creams will make no difference because what causes the way you develop lines on your face is the muscles deep under the skin - eg. some people have very strong forehead muscles and raise their eyebrows / frown a lot as a result. Some people have stronger muscles around the eyes so develop lines there.

Creams etc may improve the skins smoothness, but for deep lines, it's Botox all the way! Why wait? Botox is brilliant and it can be used in a preventative way - eg. if you do have very deep frown lines, Botox may not be enough in a few more years and you may need fillers or a facelift. Act now - you have nothing to lose! Twice yearly is enough and you will feel and look your age again.

BuzzKillington · 17/01/2018 18:21

Get Botox.

Other things will make a minimal difference if you're lucky. Botox will eliminate them.

TenancyTroublesAgain · 17/01/2018 18:24

Botox isn't guaranteed either. It will probably soften them and if you're lucky, get rid of them.

I just had it, my lines weren't severe but they did bother me. They're still there, just less noticeable. Had a topup recently which I'm still waiting to take effect.

shhhfastasleep · 17/01/2018 18:30

Don't go all Nicole Kidman with your forehead.

artiface · 17/01/2018 19:48

Frownies
Little stick on patches you wear at night (actually the transparent stick on version are better as they can be reused a few times but I can't recall the name of them!) Really do help make the lines less noticeable

BlurryFace · 17/01/2018 20:04

I'm in my late 20s and have forehead lines - and frown lines between my brows. I blame it on my very expressive face. I also have oily skin with acne breakouts/scarring on my cheeks and chin, so the top of my face is too old and the bottom too young!
