To think getting into college isn't impressive anymore?

Surely not Facebook worthy? I don't mean university... College.

OP posts:
paxillin · 16/01/2018 18:13

Way to piss on someone's bonfire.

NealPagesPillows · 16/01/2018 18:20

Yeah, it’s only PhD or higher for Facebook these days

Only if from a good department, though, obviously. And only if no corrections required. And depends on the examiners - I wouldn't wipe my arse with the PhDs some people pass.

MinorRSole · 16/01/2018 18:22

My ds has autism, struggled in school massively. When he went to college I was delighted! He struggles, it's 3 days a week but that's a massive thing for him. He isn't passing all the tests but enough to keep progressing. I haven't posted anything about it on Facebook as I don't really use it for personal stuff but I am incredibly proud of him so could see why someone would want to share it

BoucleJacket · 16/01/2018 18:32

It's already been said OP but it bears repeating.

You are a nasty person.

SilverySurfer · 16/01/2018 18:55

Whenever I read something about fb as sneery as the Opening Post, it just reinforces my view that I made the right decision never to use it.

YABU and not a nice person OP.

dailyshite · 16/01/2018 18:56

Hello?.......
OP?...........
Anyone?...........

BigBaboonBum · 16/01/2018 18:58

Surely bitching about what somebody is posting on Facebook isn’t worthy of its own post 🧐

Mrsknackered · 16/01/2018 18:59

Not coming back onto the thread makes you even more of a twat IMO

NewYearNiki · 16/01/2018 19:00

A picture of a baby scan isnt facebook worthy either. Ooh you had sex!

Pictures of your kids isnt facebook worthy really.

Palegreenstars · 16/01/2018 19:02

I once put on Facebook that I was proud of myself for keeping a basil plant Alice through maternity leave. It died shortly after

ButchyRestingFace · 16/01/2018 19:07

A vast improvement on all the ”here is a photo of tonight’s burnt offering” shite I have clogging up my timeline.

Carry on goading, OP! 🙄

ButchyRestingFace · 16/01/2018 19:10

I posted on FB about passing a NVQ.

I really should just do away with myself now, shouldn’t I? the shame, the shame

😳😢😳😢

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 16/01/2018 19:22

I suppose it depends. I wouldn't have done it because at my school you just carried on into sixth form. If you've chosen/had interviews/met grades and are going somewhere new it's more exciting and perfectly worthy of a post.

EnidButton · 16/01/2018 21:02

Are you jealous of the attention they're getting? Is the attention you're getting here making you feel better? What is it about your own life that's making you be so negative about someone else happiness? Do you need a hug OP? Because being an arse isn't the way to go about getting one.

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 16/01/2018 21:06

I once posted on FB about finding the bottom of the washing basket. I was very proud!

evilstepmumagain · 16/01/2018 21:09

YABAD

sinceyouask · 16/01/2018 21:48

Poor Alice the basil plant :(

Palegreenstars · 16/01/2018 21:54

@sinceyouask gone but not forgotten Blush

SmallBee · 16/01/2018 22:00

I put up a picture of some macaroons I ate on Facebook just now. I didn't even make them, I just ate them.
I think with this in mind, celebrating a College acceptance is indeed Facebook worthy.

LilacBearberry · 17/01/2018 04:09

Guys, seriously... I'm not being mean. I tried to go to college at 16, but OCD nearly took my life and I've just been accepted on to an access course at 19. I wouldn't say it was impressive. Yes, my mum wanted to plaster it all over Facebook (I know I'm 19, but because of the situation, she wanted to). I feel rather embarrassed even saying I'm going back to college. I don't think it is impressive anymore, like someone said, it's just a milestone. It's not impressive when you learn to drive, but many people still can't do it for various reasons. I don't think it's mean... I was just asking.

OP posts:
TanteRose · 17/01/2018 04:48

Aww its your MUM posting on FB about you?
Well, then, its deffo FB worthy! (I am the same as your mum... Wink )

Well done for getting into college Flowers

TheClaws · 17/01/2018 04:56

My child just did extremely well in her final year of school. She topped her school, in fact, has been accepted into the best university in the country (in not in Britain BTW) and given a generous scholarship based on her academic record and overall awesomeness. I’d love to put something on Facebook about this but it’s people like you that stop me. I’ve rarely post anything on there, and when I do it’s usually about my cat. In 15 years, I reckon I’ve had about 4 posts kid-related. Can’t I have 1 boast? Smile

TheClaws · 17/01/2018 04:58

Lilac she’s proud of you. That’s really lovely.

TanteRose · 17/01/2018 05:16

TheClaws fabulous! Go ahead and have good old boast on FB Wink

I do all the time Grin

Battleax · 17/01/2018 05:16

That's quite the narrative twist Grin
