dd has a new powered wheelchair. it has attendant controls on the back.
just been sorting out whether the respite place will take her out in it on saturday.......turns out she needs to be insured and I have to pay.
(she will not be driving the carer will)
surely the ot, school or respite place could have told me before

Yes, it would have been very helpful had someone thought to talk this through with you.

Is she going to be taking on the boy racers???

I think you should have been told.
What is it to cover??

staceym11 · 26/04/2007 17:43

no question you should have been told!!

Ladymuck · 26/04/2007 17:46

What type of insurance?

MrsWho · 26/04/2007 20:23

Who has said it needs insurance?
I've worked with a couple of people with electric chairs and never heard of it before.

the only legal requirements in this country are for employers liability insurance & third part insurance under the Road Traffic Act. guess you need to know exactly what they are talking about.

sorry went of to play taxis
what i don't understand is why we have to pay the insurance seeing as she won't be driving a staff member will.

My dad has an electric wheelchair, and I know they do not pay insurance. I wonder what it could be for?
