The Pinot noir grape is a red skinned grape from which you can make red, rosé or white wine - so you’re both technically right (unless you’re both wrong and it’s a white) - so it’s the wine maker decisions which determine the colour, not the grape. Red/ rosé distinction isn’t that well defined - a light red could be a dark rosé so you may literally both be right!

If not Champagne, then it's red. However, it's a very light red, and can be enjoyed chilled in the summer - but not the good quality ones please...

It could be either ...

You can make red wine out of a red grape
You can make rose wine out of a red grape
You can make white wine out of a red grape

You can only make white grapes into white wine

The colour is from the skin, NOT the grape (squeeze any colour grape and the juice is clear)

Zinfandel is made from a red grape, I think they called it “white” to differentiate from old-fashioned roses (think Mateus!), not 100% on that though
